Alex barth- Broadcaster
Alex Barth is a freelance sports journalist and announcer currently working in the Greater Boston Area. He currently serves as Program Director and lead studio host of Patriots and Red Sox content for CLNS Media. This coverage includes hosting the weekly Patriots Pregame Show Alex also can be seen as a rotation panelist on Dirty Water Media’s Dirty Water Sports Show.. In addition, Alex can be heard as a Play-by-Play voice for 8 NCAA colleges in the Greater Boston Area, including UMass Lowell, Northeastern, and MIT. He also hosts a weekly Podcast called Callin' It which can be found on iTunes and Soundcloud. In addition, Alex is a member of the promotions team at 98.5 The Sports Hub, and a part time production assistant at NBC Sports Boston. Alex has been passionate about his craft since he was young and is constantly working to make himself a better broadcaster.
Alex has had a wide range of TV, radio, and online broadcasting experience. His first job out of college was working in the athletic communications department at UMass Lowell, setting up game broadcasts as well as calling play-by-play, putting together video packages on the school's sports for goriverhawks.com, and other sports information duties.He continues to work for them as the voice of their nationally ranked Men's Soccer team. During the summer of 2015, Alex was a broadcast intern for the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League where he broadcast a 44 game season alternating duties as play-by-play announcer and color commentator. He has continued his foray into amateur baseball, working as the voice of the 2016 and 2017 editions of Steve Buckley's Oldtime Baseball Game. Additionally, he has had several on-air freelance experiences, including hosting multiple online segments for The Whistle Sports. His passion for communication and public speaking isn't limited to broadcast media either, as Alex occasionally works as an MC at party events through an all-purpose party entertainment company.
Alex graduated Ithaca College in December 2015, where he was very involved with the school's radio and TV stations. Alex was a studio analyst for football broadcasts on ICTV his freshman year, before transitioning to radio sideline reporter during his sophomore and junior years. Alex returned to the booth to do play-by-play for Ithaca Football on ICTV for the fall of 2015. He has also done play-by-play of Ithaca College basketball, baseball, and lacrosse on WICB and has been a contributor on all of ICTV 16's sports shows as a host or analyst. Alex served as Sports Director at WICB Radio, managing the station's sports staff, as well as producing live football broadcasts. He also produced sports segments for ICTV's weekly news show during his freshman and sophomore years. It's not all about sports either. Alex anchors the nightly news program on Tuesdays on ICTV. As a side passion project, he produced a weekly radio show on WICB called Rockumentary.
